If the agency pays the full tax-free stipend, your taxable wage is about $14.92/hr. If they pay less stipend, more of it is taxed.
A low taxable hourly rate means lower overtime, holiday and missed-shift pay, and smaller 401(k) contributions. Ask what overtime pays.
Tax-free stipends generally require a tax home you keep paying for while you travel. Ask a tax professional about your situation.
